Geneology

I know, I don't have enough to do already... ha!

I have started organizing all of the pictures that I scanned in from my grandparents books. Identifying who people are, putting them in folders, and sorting out families vs friends.

And, I'm making pedigree charts. I have PaF, which, you know, is handy dandy, but their reports are sooooo hard to read. They're just full of data and information, so the names kind of get lost amid all the type. So I'm making my own charts. Easy to read ones with little to no information other than names and two generations of siblings. And stars by the names that I have a life story for. I'd post an example here, but my grandparents are still alive and I don't want to put their full names up for the entire world to see.

I created a facebook group for my family, and I've been posting the life stories and pedigree charts and pictures there. It's actually quite time consuming, and in doing that, I completely forgot to prepare for my Young Women retreat this weekend. I'm supposed to teach and pass-off three different "Knowledge" value experiences. I'm not sure that's going to happen, but what the heck. I'll try. I just have no idea at all how I'm going to do it.

I have an idea ( I know, I know, I have TONS of ideas ) but I want to do a series of illustrated charts to go with each section of life stories and pictures so that the names and dates and places make sense to whoever reads the life stories. That has nothing to do with the Young Women thing, and everything to do with Geneology again. So many ideas, so little time!!!

I have not yet figured out how to divide my time up between Mom, Young Women, Girl Scouts, artist, and family historian... Oh and Road Show director. Crap. I need to call the committee members and get started with casting, props, music, etc.
